Awareness Walk
I am a past National Servicemen 6RAR/NZ Vietnam 69-70 and 2018 founder of the Not-For-Profit charity “Honour Our Fallen”. I will be walking from Enoggra Barracks, Brisbane to Bowral NSW, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War, and to raise awareness of the commitment of Honour Our Fallen to all passed ADF, since the Boer War, by partnering schools to research those in their local cemetery and place a flag on each grave or ashes wall plaque over ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day annually. To current veterans and service personnel we aim to develop via our youth our appreciation and community understanding of their physical and mental issues endured on return from deployment and when transitioning to civilian life by promoting the spoken words in passing “THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE”.
Our Australian-made flags with 90cm poles so they stand proud of the headstones are $5 each and last for upto 5years or $2.50 per ashes wall flag. This equates to $1 or 50c per flag, per veteran, per year.
Very small cost to display our gratitude for what they have given, for what we have today.
